Happy Holidays everyone! We hope you have a holiday season full of love and happiness! This year we really wanted to make sure that we, as a local business, give back to our community. We decided to do a Facebook “like” challenge. For the whole month of December, every new like we receive on Facebook we will donate a dollar to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

The Phoenix Children’s Hospital has been providing excellent care for children since 1983 and is now one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country. This year  Phoenix Children’s Hospital was ranked among the top 50 Children’s hospitals across four medical specialties including: Neonatology (#50) Nephrology (39) Neurology & Neurosurgery (#40) and Pulmonology (#47).

The Phoenix Children’s Hospital prides themselves on their specialty programs and ongoing innovative research. Just last week the Phoenix Children’s Hospital announced that they would be creating the “Ronald A. Matricaria Institute of  Molecular Medicine.” This new institute will allow for extensive research that will hopefully one day unlock the secretes connecting medicine and genetic codes. Researchers intend to study a patients genetic makeup to give them insight about common question that doctors normally wouldn’t be able to answer. Some of those questions include: how one’s body will react to a certain kind of medicine and, how susceptible a particular child is to a disease.

So how will our money help the children? All donations to Phoenix Children’s Hospital goes towards making sure the hospital has the best of the best! Donations help make it possible for Phoenix Children’s Hospital to offer the best medical specialists, the newest cutting-edge technology, and the best service regardless of a family’s ability to pay.

Our goal is to reach 100 like’s for a total of a hundred dollars. So far we have raised 25 dollars! Please help us reach our goal by heading over to our Facebook page and giving us a like! Please help us spread the word by sharing our Facebook page with your family and friends!

5 Tips on Fire Pit Safety

It’s getting chilly out, which makes it the perfect time of year for a fire pit get together! Sometimes there is just nothing better than going back to our ancestral roots and enjoying time with family around a fire.  Since fire pit season is at its peak, it’s a good time to discuss the importance of fire pit safety.  Here are a few pointers on how to be safe this winter around your fire pit!

  • 1. Fire pit placement- It is important to make sure, when you decide where to place your fire pit, that it is placed in a spot that is safe. Do not place your fire pit near any flammable materials or liquids. Some flammable liquids include gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, and charcoal lighter fluid or vehicles while in use.
  • 2. Fire Extinguisher- A fire extinguisher seems a bit obvious but you would be surprised how many households don’t even own a fire extinguisher! Having a fire extinguisher nearby your fire pit is one of the most important rules to fire safety! If you don’t already have one, make sure you go out and purchase one before you start up your fire pit. Be sure to also read over the extinguisher directions a few times, and become familiar with how it operates. Becoming familiar with how it operates will ensure that you know how to properly use it if an emergency were to happen.
  • 3. Unattended fire pits- Leaving a fire pit unattended is like leaving a child unattended, it’s just not worth it.
  • 4. Dress appropriate- Never wear loose fitting clothes around a fire and avoid nylon fabrics.
  • 5. Never use flammable fluids for help- I am sure you have done it before or have seen friends do it and sometimes when the fire just won’t light, using gasoline or lighter fluid seems like a great idea. Until you catch on fire! It happens a lot, so be safe and never use flammable fluids to help start a fire or maintain it.

The Tropitone Fire Pit is a one-of-a-kind fire pit that kills two birds with one stone! So what makes this fire pit special? The Tropitone fire pit comes with an optional grill pan that sits easily on top of your Tropitone fire pit.

This fire pit is a great option for those who may not have enough space for both a fire pit and a grill or simply for families that enjoy both. This unique fire pit has a burner system that produces a wide rage of heat output, peaking at 90,000 BTU’s. This allows for more versatile control for both cooking and heat output.

Consider these scenarios:

1)You are hanging out by a log burning fire pit and your legs feel like they are on fire, so you move away. But then the logs burn up and the fire is burning low so you throw more logs on. Now the fire is raging and you’re back to square one. Tropiton fire pits allow you to have a steady temperature that can be easily adjusted to your heat preference.
